The home of research at Northwell Health
At the Feinstein Institutes, we produce knowledge to cure disease. And when we embark on a research endeavor, we make a promise to patients to improve their lives.

From our president and CEO

Welcome to The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, the home of research at Northwell Health. Our 4,000 researchers and staff have made important discoveries in many medical fields, including cancer, sepsis, inflammation, autoimmune disorders, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia and bioelectronic medicine. We are experts in molecular research and are driving groundbreaking efforts in cancer, clinical research and health outcomes. We are the world’s scientific headquarters for bioelectronic medicine.

We are guided by five principles:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research to cure disease
  • Share our knowledge and expertise with the scientific community
  • Publish influential papers in leading journals
  • Work collaboratively across labs and disciplines and with other institutions and strategic partners
  • Bring our discoveries to market for patient use as quickly and safely as possible

I am proud to lead the Feinstein Institutes. They constitute a unique organization where scientists, physicians, clinicians, and staff encourage in each other the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that will produce tomorrow’s medical cures today. Our mission drives us; it is why we come to work each day ready to make new discoveries that will make patients better.

Sincerely,

Kevin J. Tracey, MD, president and CEO of the Feinstein Institutes
